Talking Together

In the association “Talking Together – Parents and Children” they provide support for families with young children and babies from the surrounding settlements who experienced the trauma on October 7th. Parents are helped to have an emotional conversation with the children about what happened that day, and what has been happening since, and about everything that hurts and scares them in their hearts. It is important to have such a conversation close to the time of the traumatic events. Both the babies who are only a few months old, and the toddlers, the one-year-olds and the two-year-olds have experienced these events. These events also affect them. It is important for us to respond to them as well. They believe that every child who experiences such difficulty and pain deserves such an answer, and deserves an opportunity to process these feelings. Whether we see that he has emotional reactions to the event (wet again, clings to his parents, expresses fear or anxiety) or whether he seems to be behaving normally.
