פועל מתוקף חוק משפחות חיילים שנספו במערכה, ומספק תמיכה רגשית, חברתית וכלכלית לאלמנות וליתומים של צה”ל וכוחות הביטחון. הארגון מקיים פעילויות לאורך השנה, מייצג את חבריו מול הכנסת ומוסדות ציבור, ופועל לחיזוק תחושת השייכות והקהילתיות בקרבם. בנוסף, הארגון פועל ליזום חקיקה ולקדם שיפורים תקציביים ותקנות, במטרה לשפר את איכות חיי האלמנות והיתומים ולהגביר את חוסנה של החברה הישראלית.
